WHERE THE FUNDS GO

Your support during these 16 Days of Activism is crucial in our collective efforts to ensure the safety of women and girls worldwide.

Violence against women is a global crisis, affecting millions worldwide, including right here in Australia.

From domestic violence to trafficking, it manifests in many forms with profound physical, psychological, and societal consequences. Despite decades of advocacy, its prevalence remains alarmingly high.

Your fundraising efforts will directly contribute to UN Women’s initiatives to prevent and respond to gender-based violence globally.

Together, through the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, we can make tangible strides towards a world where women and girls are Safe. Everywhere. Always.

The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women

The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund), managed by UN Women, is the only global grant-giving mechanism exclusively dedicated to preventing and ending violence against women and girls globally.

Focusing on preventing violence, implementing laws and policies, and improving access to vital services for survivors, the UN Trust Fund invests in life-changing initiatives for millions of women and girls around the world. Over two decades of persistent efforts from global activists have resulted in improved international laws and standards to end violence against women and girls. Yet, resources to adequately implement these improvements remain woefully lacking and insufficient to combat the unacceptable rate of violence, harassment, and abuse.

The UN Trust Fund is committed to advocating for adequate, sustainable funding for efforts to end violence against women and girls. It is committed to funding organisations that are operating at the grassroots level, focused on women’s rights, and that are women-led.

By funding violence prevention programs, legislation and improving access to essential services for victims, the UN Trust Fund has improved the lives of millions of women and girls over the last 25 years.

In 2023, UN Trust Fund projects reached over
7.7 million women and girls
