This is for women and girls everywhere....
Hi friends, from November 25th, I’m going to be walking for a cause that is close to my heart.
Worldwide, every 10 minutes a woman or girl is killed by an intimate partner or family member. In Australia it's every 4 days. 1 in 4 women and girls experience domestic, family or sexual violence, and 1 in 6 experience abuse before the age of 15. I was one of those girls. Between the ages of 14 and 20, I was in a violent relationship, and my physical and mental safety was threatened constantly. I know firsthand how domestic, family and sexual violence can impact girls and we all deserve better.
Every woman and girl around the world, deserves to feel Safe. Everywhere. Always. at home, at the gym, even online - and that is why I’m joining UN Women Australia in the walk to end violence against women and girls.
